So it begins...

My name is Megan M. Robichaud. I am twenty-one and I live with my fiance, our bunny, a twenty-three year old cat, and his family. We used to rent out a crappy apartment that we could barely afford, then Brendan (my fiance) lost his job so we found ourselves living back at home with dear old mom and dad. Several months later we still found ourselves living at home with no end in sight. We realized we would never be able to maintain our lifestyle (I like clothes, he likes comics), if we put most of our money into an apartment that could never be ''ours''. We had rented before and we hated it! It was near impossible to find The landlord was insane, the utilities outrageous, and the roommate was just plain scary. No more renting for us! We decided we wanted to own our next home. Living in rural Maine, we don't have the option of buying an apartment, and I vowed at a young age to never invest in a trailer.(More on that later.)
We thought that maybe, we could buy or build a house. So we started looking over properties. Eventually we gave up on that idea because all the houses in our price range were in miserable condition  Also, all of the houses in decent condition we're out of our price range! We considered buying property, but if we did that it would be years before we could build a house. At wit's end we gave up and were prepared to settle into an life of crappy apartment, after crappy apartment. Then we learned about tiny houses.
I had first learned about tiny houses a few years back, and thought they were silly. I thought a house roughly the size of my bathroom could never be big enough for two or more people. Where do the clothes go? What about all the stuff? I'll admit though, despite these accusations  I was interested. The tiny houses I saw were little but, beautiful. Most tiny houses included design elements that McMansions could only dream of. I kept pouring over the internet scouring blog, after blog, learning everything I could about these curious little homes. I started sharing my findings with my fiance who too, found these tiny homes to be interesting. Before I knew it, I was in love. I was in love with the concept of simplifying my life by living in tiny home, and that's were our tiny house journey began.
